Gruss-Bard Galley Art Opening: Katie Sprague ‘17

Kents Hill School is pleased to present “Childhood Imagination,” an exhibition of photographic works by Katie Sprague ‘17. The collection will feature selected works from her 2016 top-scoring AP (Advanced Placement) Studio Art Portfolio, as well as those that have received local and national accolades.

Presented as a series of self-portraits, the collection explores childhood with a specific focus on emotion. According to Katie, ‘I created each self-portrait with intent to show my dreams, the products of my imagination, my fears, and even the mourning I experienced as I began to lose grasp of my childhood years. The last image is intended to show the day ending, as well as my childhood. As I peer out of the childhood fort, I’m looking onto the years forward, and all that the universe has in store for my adulthood.”

The show will open on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM in the Gruss-Bard Gallery at the Bibby and Harold Alfond Dining Commons and be on display through Sunday, October 2, 2016. Self-guided viewing will be available Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, and on weekends by chance or appointment.
