Huskies lose 43-45 in first round of Maine State Basketball Tournament

The Huskies entered the playoffs with a tough matchup at Sacopee in the preliminary round of the Maine State Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. In a hostile environment, the Huskies showed grit and determination. After falling behind 18-9 at the end of the 1st quarter, Kents Hill clawed their way back in the second quarter with tenacious defense and solid offense, pulling to within 1 at the break, 25-24. In the 3rd quarter the Huskies pulled ahead by 4 behind strong guard and wing play, aggressively taking the ball to the basket. In the fourth the Huskies fatigued and fell just short, falling by 2 points. Despite the loss, Kents Hill ends the season at 12-7 and with lots to be proud of. Charlotte Harper-Cunningham led the way with 18 points. Rose Jenkins added 11, Josie Harper-Cunningham 8 and Jarni Hewins 6.
