Huskies take care of visiting Lewiston

Kents Hill School's Boys JV Ice Hockey Team hosted the Lewiston High School JV Blue Devils for an early evening tilt on Monday and came away with a resounding 5-1 victory. Although the Huskies were thwarted by sensational goaltending by the Blue Devil netminder until the final minutes of the second period, the Huskies pulled away in the third period. Brad Maki '20 opened the scoring with an unassisted, long-range slap shot that managed to skip its way past the goaltender in the waning minutes of the second period. Kents Hill continued its momentum into the third when Mark Andre '21 recorded a breakaway goal assisted by Blake Birger '21, and Tucker Nussinow '20 notched an unassisted effort within the opening 45 seconds of the final period. Lewiston got one back but Kents Hill pulled away as Nussinow '20 scored twice more--his second was assisted by Jack Bonnefond '22, and his third was another unassisted effort. Husky goaltender, Carson Palmer '23, turned aside 12 Lewiston shots on the day. Kents Hill will have two days of practice before traveling to Rockport, Maine on Thursday, January 13 for a 4:20 PM game with the Mid-Coast Ice Cats.
