Spring Athletic Awards Celebration 2024

On Thursday evening, May 16, in the Bodman Performing Arts Center, our community gathered to celebrate our spring athletes. It was a successful season for our Huskies as they brought home MAISAD Championships, several MAISAD and NEPSAC All League Selections, as well as many other individual accolades. Most Valuable Manager Award: 

Averi C. '25 (Varsity Boys Lacrosse)
We would be remiss if we neglected to express our gratitude to Averi Campos, our manager. Her commitment as a member of our team is worthy of an award solely and completely dedicated to her dedication. Averi has attended every home game and each of our away games, no matter the distance. She has faithfully sat out in the myriad of weather conditions we have had this season, including rain, cold, bugs, and the wind that finds its way upon lacrosse fields throughout Maine. Averi has ridden the bus with loud, stinky, and sometimes quite unhappy boys expressing their disappointment rather colorfully at times. Her well-kept, although sometimes wet, bookkeeping allowed us to maintain the records that we, as coaches and players, whole-heartedly appreciated throughout the season. Thank you very much, Averi. We look forward to having you as a member of our team next year.

 

 

Sportsmanship Award Nominees: 

Aidan H. '24 (Varsity Track & Field) -
always cheerful, hardworking, and is a surrogate coach to our younger throwers. Makes friends with just about everyone he meets on all the teams.

Helena M. '25 (Varsity Girls Tennis) -
Helena worked with teammates on drills when asked by me, her leadership appreciated by all. She played 2nd and then 1st Singles with grace and confidence. She had to work harder in the latter position as the opposition got tougher, but she rose to the challenge. Though there were some bad line calls, she kept her composure and did not let them affect her concentration on playing her best tennis. I also appreciate that I could rely on her, as co-captain, to get messages and information from me to the team.
