Fall Must-Dos in Maine

Fall Must-Dos in Maine

I’ve lived in Maine my entire life, but I’ve only started to appreciate it recently. Being able to experience four diverse seasons means there is so much to enjoy; frolicking in the sea in July, hiking through the foliage in October, skiing down mountainsides in December, and picking wildflowers in May. Yet, out of all of these seasons – of all this allure – I think fall, by far, is my favorite. Here are my favorite ways to enjoy fall in Maine:

  • Have a campfire with friends
  • Thrift a new sweater
  • Hike Mt. Pisgah and climb the fire tower for fall views
  • Go apple picking at Kents Hill Orchard and bake apple goodies
  • Take a drive to the coast to admire the foliage
  • Get spooked at Paul’s Haunted House
  • Carve a pumpkin from Stevenson’s Farm
  • Have a scary movie marathon
  • Cozy up and real a good ol’ book (The Secret History by Donna Tartt is a great fall read)
  • Drink a Dunkin’ iced pumpkin cream cold brew coffee
  • Make a fall playlist (or check out this one I made)
  • Decorate your room for fall with items from the $5 section at Target
  • Buy an apple cider donut from Lakeside Orchards
  • Visit the Farmington Fair (I’ve been going every year since elementary school!)

There is so much to see and do in Maine during the Fall season. If you’re looking for more recommendations, as a local, I have plenty! Whether you want to keep exploring, or you want to share your own ideas with me, my inbox is open and I’m always excited to chat!
