Class of 2025 Commencement

On Friday, May 23, families of graduates are invited to join Dr. Molly T. MacKean, Head of School, along with many of our dedicated faculty members, for a Cocktail Reception on the McNulty Patio at the Bibby and Harold Dining Commons. Come enjoy a final evening on campus from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Looking for somewhere to celebrate your graduate? We encourage you to make plans to dine at one of many local eateries, which you can find listed here.

On Saturday, May 24, we will celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates at our Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Hansen Quadrangle. Immediately following Commencement, we invite you to join us for a Family Luncheon at the Bibby and Harold Alfond Dining Commons. After lunch, boarding students should return to their dorm to complete move-out and check-out with their dorm parents. Please note that dorms close at 2 p.m. 

Each graduating member of the Class of 2025 will receive five tickets for their guests. If additional tickets are requested, please reach out to Andrea Emmershy at aemmershy@kentshill.org.

Please park in the parking lot at the Alfond Athletics Center. The address for your GPS is 1617 Main St, Readfield, ME 04355. From there, you can walk up the pathway to the Hansen Quadrangle. A shuttle will be available for those with mobility limitations.

The Hansen Quadrangle is located in the center of campus between Ricker Hall and the Bibby and Harold Alfond Dining Commons. As you walk up from parking at the Alfond Athletics Center, take a left down Alumni Path when you get to the Dining Commons. You will see the chairs set up for graduates and for their guests – guests will be seated on the lawn.

Yes! The Commencement ceremony will be livestreamed on the Kents Hill School YouTube Channel, linked here.

To ensure the focus remains on our graduates, pets are not allowed at Commencement or the Friday night parent reception. If you require a service animal, please contact Andrea Emmershy at aemmershy@kentshill.org.

Yes, there will be a shuttle available on campus for any transportation needs.

While we hope we can enjoy a beautiful spring day on campus, we are always prepared to make necessary changes. In case of inclement weather, Commencement will be held indoors at the Alfond Athletics Center. Please note that only ticket holders will be seated.

Yes, we are happy to offer a luncheon at the Bibby and Harold Alfond Dining Commons for graduates and their guests immediately following Commencement.

Yes! The school store will be open on Saturday, May 24, from 8:45-10:15 a.m., and 12-12:30 p.m.

All graduates must be packed and rooms inspected prior to Commencement. Families may enter dorms after Commencement to help their graduate move-out. Please note that dorms close at 2 p.m. on Saturday. We ask you to plan accordingly, and encourage your graduate to complete their packing early, so that they may enjoy post-Commencement celebrations as much as possible.

Yes! There will be a photographer on campus Friday evening and Saturday to capture all of the commencement weekend memories. Individual photos of you graduate receiving their diploma will be available on our SmugMug page after the ceremony. 

Friday evening's Parent Cocktail Reception leans more towards relaxed and casual. On Saturday, we ask that students dress in professional attire under their gowns – most graduates choose to wear either a nice dress or a button down and dress pants. Guests are encouraged to dress similarly. For both days, be sure to check the weather and dress accordingly, as the events will be held outdoors. Make sure to bring something to protect yourself from the sun or rain.
