Associate Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Coach

Position Overview

Kents Hill is seeking an Associate Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Coach who is passionate about the role athletics can play in the education and character development of student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for working with the Director of Hockey Operations on team development, and committed to building and sustaining a competitive program that will represent Kents Hill in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).

The Associate Head Coach is also responsible for the administrative operations of the team including managing and reporting player and team statistics, recording player attendance, and attending league meetings in support of a safe and dynamic player experience.

Working in conjunction with the Kents Hill School Admissions Office, they will guide prospective student-athlete's families through all stages of the admissions process. In addition, the Associate Head Coach will work collaboratively with the KHS college counseling office in helping student-athletes who wish to play at the collegiate level after they graduate.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to support players from a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences and possess a strong ethical coaching philosophy with an emphasis on player development and a positive team culture.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Competed at the NCAA level 
  • 1-3  years of coaching experience at the high school, club, or college level
  • Knowledge of NCAA college hockey programs and the recruitment process
  • Valid driver's license
  • Positive attitude and collaborative spirit
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
