Home of the Huskies

The mission of the Kents Hill athletic program is to provide an opportunity for all students, regardless of athletic ability, to regularly exercise while learning personal and athletic skills. Sportsmanship, discipline, leadership, and teamwork are introduced and reinforced daily. These skills help the students long after they leave Kents Hill School. Through practices and competitions, students will become better athletes and maintain a level of physical fitness, which is intended to promote an increase in confidence, achievement, and self-esteem.

Kents Hill offers a variety of athletic programs to meet the needs of our students. Students must participate in an athletic event each season. For more information on Athletics at Kents Hill please contact our Director of Athletics Doug Friedman

  • Varsity Baseball with a Comeback Win Over Hebron

The boys varsity baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to walk off with a 4-3 victory over rival Hebron Academy on Saturday afternoon.  In the 7th inning, senior Ian Semon (Stewartsville, NJ) singled to lead off the inning.  With junior Santa Takahashi (Tokyo, Japan) at the plate, Semon took off for second and scored to tie the game on Takahashi's RBI double.  Immediately following the double, senior Alex Olivier (Sisters, OR) hit a ball that eluded the Hebron second baseman which allowed Takahashi to score the winning run.  Santa Takahashi earned the win on the mound throwing 7 innings, allowing no earned runs, striking out six and walking none.  Other noteworthy performances included senior Conor Cassidy (Wilmington, DE) with a lead off triple in the 3rd inning; senior Joel Pottruff (Ontario, Canada), single and run scored in the 4th; and senior Will Lafford (New Brunswick, Canada), single in the 4th with a heads up play taking an extra base drawing a throw that went to the outfield scoring Pottruff from third.  A key play that turned out to be a very big run for the Huskies.  Next up is a rematch with Gould on Wednesday.
