Kents Hill is fully committed to providing students with a variety of ways to prepare themselves for standardized testing.
In-Class Preparation
Juniors and seniors/postgraduates spend time during English and math classes preparing for upcoming SATs. Juniors who take advanced level courses are also encouraged to register for and practice for SAT II's in these areas.
Maine Prep
Interested seniors can sign up for a fall SAT preparation course, run by Maine Prep, a highly rated test preparation company in Maine. The course runs for 2 hours a week at Kents Hill on Sunday evenings, for six weeks. The course is an additional fee and is limited to classes of 14 students. Juniors have the opportunity to sign up for a similar course in late winter.
TOEFL
Juniors and seniors who need to take TOEFL can prepare for this test either by taking the TOEFL course offered at Kents Hill School or working individually with the TOEFL instructor.
Test Registration
All test registration for SATs I and II, ACT's, AP's, and TOEFL is done at Kents Hill School. These tests are either administered on-site, or Kents Hill arranges transportation for students to the off-site location.
Extended Time Testing
Arrangements for extended time testing must be made through the Testing Coordinator and Director of the Learning Center. Arrangements must be made at least six months prior to the testing date.
