Educating each student in mind, body and spirit.

The athletics program promotes physical fitness and skill building while teaching:
    Sportsmanship
    Discipline
    Leadership
    Teamwork
An authentic part of the Kents Hill experience, athletics increases confidence, achievement and self-esteem in each student. Since coaches are also teachers and dorm parents, sports also provide another area in which students form meaningful relationships with adults in the school community, as well as with each other.

Kents Hill athletes are the face of Kents Hill that those in other schools see most often, and those with whom our teams interact are consistently impressed with Kents Hill students' sportsmanship and attitude.

  • A student may change from one sport to another within the first week of each term. After that time a change may be made only with the approval of the coach and the athletic department.

  • For students who elect to participate in Equestrian, there will be an additional estimated charge of $3,000 each season.

  • If a student wishes to participate in an Independent Sport during any term, s/he needs to submit a written proposal to the athletic department two weeks before the season begins. In this proposal the student should explain in detail the sport requirement along with the time commitment, supervision and transportation method to and from the sport. At that time, the athletic department will make a decision on the proposal and under what category that sport will be classified. An Independent Sport should be an activity which the Athletic Department does not offer during the year.
