The Kents Hill School men's varsity tennis team made history on Wednesday, with two singles players making it all the way to the MAISAD singles championship match. Sophomore Dylan Rich, the defending champion from 2009, successfully defended his title against his teammate Nico Sarcher in the finals by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Nico had played 3 prior matchs that day (72 games in total) and was a litte weary for the championship match, but played very well in front of 50-60 students and faculty on our home courts.
Over the last two seasons, Dylan has accumulated an amazing singles record of 25 -1 and ended the 2010 season with a perfect record of 15-0! Nico, who played at #2 singles, also had a very impressive record this year of 13-2. These two young men were the backbone of a team that went 11-0 for the season and won the MAISAD team title.
Congratulations to Dylan, Nico, and the entire team!
